We would like to draw your attention to this one- off special promotional event ahead of the release of Scott Walker + Sun O)))‘s album entitled ‘Soused‘. It has been organised by 4AD , the label that was set up in the 1980s by Ivo Watts-Russell and Peter Kent and financial help by the label Beggars Banquet on the record store of which, the duo was working . In the 1990s the label signed a distribution deal with Warner Bros Records and until the beginning of the 2000s it had a unique identity with signed artists such as Dead Can Dance, This Mortal Coil, Cocteau Twins, Bauhaus, Pale Saints and The Birthday Party. After 2008, significant changes were apparent as the label changed management team and expanded its portfolio of signed musicians by including artists as The National, Zomby, St Vincent.

‘Soused‘ is the third album by the avant gard musician Scott Walker that is being released by 4AD after ‘The Drift’ , ‘And Who Shall Go To The Ball? And What Shall Go To The Ball?’ and the excellent and dynamic ‘Bish Bosch’. Sun o))) is an american band from Seattle focused on drone, ambient, noise, metal music with ‘dirty’ electric guitars and distorted sounds. They take their name from the logo of the Sunn amplifier. They have released 18 full lentgh albums since their debut in 2000 and have also collaborated with Nurse With Wound. Taking into account the strength of Scott Walker’s performance and Sun o)))’s doom atmosphere, this album is more than promising!!!!

”Ahead of its release 4AD present a unique opportunity to hear Scott Walker + Sunn O)))’s collaborative record, Soused, at a special London event next Tuesday evening, the 14th October. The 5-track, 49-minute record will be played on a specialist sound-system provided by McIntosh Labs, creating the perfect environment to soak up this vital creative pairing.  The event will take place at St John at Hackney church, East London, as part of St. John Sessions…Soused will be released the following week of 20th October, and pre-orders for all formats (2xLP, CD and digital download) are now available. The vinyl edition consists of two heavyweight LPs, housed in a tip-on sleeve.
